This bill would direct the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) to establish and enforce minimum wage, paid sick leave, paid vacation leave, benefits, and training requirements for security guards and security guard employers. It would establish the Department of Security and a Security Guard Advocate within DCWP to educate security guard employers and workers about their obligations and rights, develop a system to assist covered security guards to submit complaints regarding potential violations, track the status and outcome of such complaints, and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders regarding issues affecting the security workforce.
