Status: Committee Committee on Economic Development
Sponsored by Nantasha M. Williams
Introduced: April 16, 2026

This bill would provide for the New York City Economic Development Corporation (“EDC”) to develop and implement a cultural passport program in consultation with the Department of Small Business Services, the Department of Cultural Affairs, and New York City Tourism + Conventions. The goal of the program would be to encourage visitation to participating sites in each borough. Such program would be required to include: identification of at least five participating sites in each borough; production and distribution of a cultural passport document; a system by which participating sites can recognize visitation; incentives for cultural passport holders; and promotion, including publication of the program on a dedicated website. EDC would have one year to develop and implement the program.
