This bill would require the New York Police Department (NYPD) to report quarterly on each instance of a protest, demonstration, or other First Amendment event that occurred at a place of religious worship in the previous quarter to which police officers were dispatched. The report would include a table that sets forth for each event the date, address of the place of religious worship, patrol precinct in which the event occurred, duration, and type of place of religious worship. Additionally, the report would include a table setting forth the total number of First Amendment events that occurred at each type of place of religious worship. NYPD would be required to submit each report to the Mayor and the Speaker of the Council and post each report on its website.
