This bill would require that the commissioner of transportation establish a pilot program to install high visibility pavement markings in at least five locations per borough. The commissioner must prioritize placing the high visibility pavement markings in locations where high numbers of traffic related injuries or fatalities have occurred as a result of poor driving conditions. Upon completion of the pilot program, the commissioner would be required to submit a report making recommendations on whether to expand or make the program permanent and identifying any challenges and issues presented by the pilot program.
